So I was in class for one of the last days in the 9th grade. Then the teacher informed us we'd be watching an alternate version of the 70's movie Romeo and Juliet. See, we were studying the book, blah blah blah...
The teacher puts the movie on, and we were greeted with a montage of the film we were about to watch, a dude in the background reciting the beggining chorus, and some awesome music. I thought it was frickin' sweet.
Then the beggining scene! Benvolio and Tybalt gunfight! At a gas station! It rocked! Of course Tyblat was played by sexy Latino actor John Leguizamo, and Romeo played by Leonardo DiCaprio!
There were fights with guns and raunchy sex scenes (kinda) and all with great acting, I thought. But I looked around to see my classmates nearly throwing up and complaining about the film. I had no idea how they could be unhappy! This movie had everything!
Well, screw them. Go see Romeo + Juliet.
